Constructivism is the idea that students learn easier the more that hands-on and interactive componets incororated into the lessons.
Most of my experiences in school were not like this except for the few times that the class was well behaved and we got to do science experiments. In the future as a teacher I hope to be able to implement some the the constructivist methods. However, I don't think that this method is the best and only way to teach. People learn various ways and to accmodate that a techer must teach using various techniques and items be it the smartboard, the whiteboard or the good old fashion chalkboard.
I definitely agree that people learn in various ways so constructivism isn't always best. Some students would prefer a lecture type setting. I think that was very insightful of you.
