'When we get your GPS location, we put it together with other location information we have about you (like your current city).'
This is a peice directly off the Facebook policy page. they can get your GPS location. People will know where you are. Now this is not just about internet safety it's about safety in general.
This information surprised m because while I knew about the phones that could use GPS I did not know that Facebook could use it to.

reflecting

As a student watching my classmate teach was an interesting experience. Most of the lessons were well thought out and quite a few of them used the Smartboard as well as the computers. But the one thing that I wonder is how technology intergration can be done when there is only limited amouts of a certain resource. As a teacher though I found myself wondering how it will really be when I am teaching real children because as much as the project was a helpful thing it was done with our classmates so the true experience will be quite different from the practice that we did.


                                                    

Other Students Blog

I randomly went to some of the blogs created by my classmates. Some of them are very good at doing the blogs those had pretty colors and a font change as well as lots of pictures. Others are similar to mine  because they are just just posting in the best way that they know how. I really dont think that anyone reads these blogs aside from the people that have to. Also I will do blogs after this however; I do use other sites as outlets for creativity. I make videos that I post on my youtube account and I also write stories that I post on a site that was created for the purpose of people uploading stories for others to read.

This is a link to a game called "lemonade stand". What you do is choose how many lemons, ice cubes, and sugar you want to use in the lemonade as well as how much you want to sell it for. The object of the game is to make as much of a profit at the end of a certain period of days. This game is useful because it gives the player a lot of control over the options about what to do and as a result you can gain money or lose it based on the choices you make as a gamer. Also it is fun not only for younger kids but for older people to.

   

the articles

I couldn't find many people that did the article assignment the first time the I remebered that it was on the disscussionboard. I know that it is a little late but I am still make a post.
So I read Johnathan Foster's review of "6 Reasons Tablets are Ready for the Classroom." (As well as the article itself.) I never though about tablets much before. But the one thing that stood out was the part about how a tablet forces you to focus on one task at a time. That is a good reason why tablets are ready for the classroom.

technology

I think that there is an age that is to young for technology. This is because I already see it now. Most people go to the library and get on computers. most of thoes kids I haven't seen pick up a book. Technology is getting very sophisticated that it in being intergrated into everything and while this is not nessassarily a bad thing it also isn't a good thing because the more the technology advances the more dependent people become on it. Sometimes people become dependent on technology without even realizing it. for example social networking is very popular. If one day twitter and facebook shut down I think quite a few people would go crazy .
 The illustation is pretty silly but it gets the message that people are getting into technology earlier and earlier in fact my friend told me just the other day that his cousin made a facebook for her unborn child and that is just plain ridiculous.

Constuctivism

Constructivism is the idea that students learn easier the more that hands-on and interactive componets incororated into the lessons.

  Most of my experiences in school were not like this except for the few times that the class was well behaved and we got to do science experiments. In the future as  a teacher I hope to be able to implement some the the constructivist methods. However, I don't think that this method is the best and only way to teach. People learn various ways and to accmodate that a techer must teach using various techniques and items be it the smartboard, the whiteboard or the good old fashion chalkboard.

blog

I have never read a blog before nor have I ever wrote a blog so this is a new experience for me. But even though it is a new experience it does not feel that odd because I do enjoy writing and I just found a site that I would be able to put some of the stories that I want to write up. This site is made specifically for a cetain type of story so people who like what I like will be the ones that read it. The other good thing is that the site allows people to post reviews and comments about the story. So in effect it is sort of similair to the basic idea of a blog. There are a lot of blogs out there about anything and everthing imagineable because people all over the world have opinions about everything.
